Welcome

Headteacher's Welcome

Include Norfolk school is a specialist independent provision for learners aged 14 to 16-years-old whose needs cannot be met within a mainstream environment. All students are fully supported.

A strong wrap-around approach at the schools enables learners to build their confidence, overcome barriers to learning and progress to a positive next step in their lives.

Our high-quality, professional staff bring out the best in all learners through a personalised approach, enabling them to achieve beyond their expectations. Time with us can significantly improve a young person’s chances in life due to our mixture of high-quality teaching and nurturing.

We believe that all young people have the ability to succeed and make the most of the next stages of their lives. We promote key life skills so that they have the confidence and tools to thrive as learners and citizens.

Who are we:

We are an independent school which caters for year 9, 10 and 11 pupils who have had difficulties fitting in at mainstream school. Many of our pupils have social, emotional, and/or mental health issues they need support with.

What we do:

We ensure that our curriculum is meaningful and relevant to enable our pupils to re-engage with education in an environment that is understanding and supportive. We aim for our pupils to leave us with 5 or more level 2 qualifications so they can assess and achieve in a post 16 placement. Many of our leavers move on to City College Norwich (CCN) and the College of West Anglia (CoWA). We also offer vocational placements for pupils who wish to acquire meaningful skills.

How we do it:

Staff at Include are skilled in building and maintaining positive relationships, supporting our pupils to raise self-esteem, belief, and confidence. We celebrate every positive step and success no matter how small it may seem. Our staff take a trauma informed and attachment aware approach, so we understand each individual pupil at our school. Every day is a new start, a new opportunity to achieve. We have a full-time counsellor and dedicated pastoral staff so our pupils always have the right help and support in and out of the classroom. We help with emotional regulation, careers guidance, kindness to others, a positive attitude to learning and attending school.

Why:

We believe that every young person deserves the right education. We offer the right place for our pupils to access meaningful qualifications and life skills. We are here to ensure that out pupils can access positive outcomes when they leave us. We are here to help our pupils lead full and happy lives.
